Everything Starts With a Decision: My story

My story

There was a time I didn’t see myself as creative person, even though I felt a strange nudge inside me. Whenever I watched creative people, I wanted to be just like them — expressive in my own way.

I did have a short period in my twenties when I went to art school for six months, but I was never truly satisfied with my work. Looking back now, I do believe I had talent.
Call me a perfectionist if you wish.

Before trying my next hobby, I spent countless hours researching,  watching YouTubers doing exactly what I wanted to do… without taking any action myself.

And then it happened.
The nudge became so strong that I couldn’t ignore it anymore. So I acted on it.

I left my country and arrived in this beautiful place, which I now proudly call my home. It had always been a dream of mine to live somewhere with both the sea and the mountains.

At the same time, I slowly began opening myself to spirituality and inner work.
I asked myself:

Who do I want to be?
How do I want to think?
How do I want to behave?

I made a decision:
I didn’t want to complain about my life anymore.
I wanted to be a positive person — transparent, authentic, and true to myself.

It has been over a year since I first asked myself that question, and I can honestly tell you — I didn’t even feel this year passing by. Every month, every experience, every relationship taught me something. Each moment shaped me, allowed me to grow into a better version of myself.

Everything really does start with a decision.
I didn’t know this years ago — not the way I know it now. But life has a way of teaching you things exactly when you need them.

There are bumps on the road, but they aren’t shovels meant to bury you.

This post is a gentle reminder from me to you:
No matter what the outside world tells you, you are powerful. You can choose what you focus on, what you appreciate, and what you allow to shape your inner world.

And as much or as little as you have right now, your life is abundant — even if you can’t always see it.

Abundance is appreciation for what you have, and what you desire.
And appreciation carries a positive vibration.

This is the second step:
Appreciate what you have.

Creating a joyful, fulfilling life is difficult when you’re living in a negative vibration.

So what do you do when you have negative thoughts about yourself?
Or when you replay upsetting scenarios in your mind?

Here’s where it gets interesting.

Our emotions are a powerful weapon.

Dr. Joe Dispenza says:
“Your brain and body don’t know the difference between having an actual experience and just thinking about the experience — neurochemically, it’s the same.”

That’s why it’s so easy to remember old anger or past hurts.
You linked emotions to them.
You didn’t move on.
You didn’t heal.

Every time you think about that situation, your body reacts as if you’re back in that same moment.

Dr. Joe also says:
“Thoughts are the language of the brain. Feelings are the language of the body. Your state of being is when your mind and body work together.”

If feelings are the language of the body, and feelings are generated by our thoughts, can we feel better when we have better thoughts?

How to you feel when you have negative thoughts, good? No.

In other words: by choosing better thoughts, we can literally feel better.

This is why practices like mindfulness, affirmations, gratitude, and reframing negative thoughts are so powerful: they train your mind to think in ways that produce feelings that support your well-being, rather than drain it.

In plain language: you have power in your hands to choose where your focus goes.

This is the third step:

Your attention.
Notice your thoughts and be aware of them.
You are teaching your body emotionally through what you think.

Start with one hour a day.
Notice your thoughts about yourself, others, and everyday situations.

If the thought doesn’t serve you—reframe it.

The fourth step:
Change your thoughts.

From: What if this goes wrong?
To: How amazing would it be if this works out beautifully?

It sounds cheesy, but it works — especially when there are emotions behind it.
Positive affirmations work when you feel them.

In the beginning, it can feel strange, but everything new does. The unknown is unfamiliar until it isn’t.

I truly believe we can all live abundant lives — as long as we choose to.

Nothing changes when nothing changes.

The first step is always the same:
A decision.

Good book to start with:
The Having — light, simple language, real-life examples, and a beautiful approach to an abundant life.
